    Postpartum care, lactation support, newborn follow ups or evaluation, prenatal care, and miscarriage evaluation and care. We offer at-home appointments and individualized services for families even if we do not attend your birth.

    We come to you.

    Whether your baby was born at the hospital or at home, a midwife will come to you to check on how baby is doing. Feeding concerns, weight gain, jaundice, and other common issues during the first 6 weeks.

    We care for your reproductive and sexual health through ALL phases of your birthing years.

    Adolescent reproductive health, preconception counseling, pregnancy loss and miscarriage care, annual exams, sexual health screenings, fertility support, IUI, pelvic floor, perimenopause support.

    If you are low-risk, a midwife can provide all of your routine care.

Sarah Tunney, LM, CPM, PhD (ABD)

Trained primarily in low-resource settings outside the US and as a community midwife for the Amish in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, midwife Sarah Tunney is equipped with birth emergency and newborn assessment skills to ensure experienced care for you and your baby. With 25+ years working in the field of maternal infant health, the last ten as a professional birth worker, Sarah is ready to care for your family’s unique needs.

She believes that pregnancy and birth are fundamentally normal physiologic experiences that hold the potential to be transformative, deeply spiritual, and to connect us to our shared humanity.

Sarah is a Licensed Midwife (LM) in California, holds national certification as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and is NCHAM-certified for newborn hearing screening (OAE). She earned her Masters and PhD (ABD) in Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies from New York University as a MacKracken Fellow, and graduated cum laude from Yale University with her Bachelor of Arts in Near Eastern Languages & Civilizations.
