  • Midwifery Newborn Care

    Midwifery care includes healthy newborn care for the first six weeks. I come to your home to assist you with common issues, monitor growth and development, weight gain, jaundice, and can do ALL normal newborn assessments.

    Most insurance will cover a home or office visit for your baby by a Licensed Midwife.

  • Midwifery Care Outside of Pregnancy

    If you are low-risk, a midwife can provide you with normal, routine OB/Gyn care.

    Annual gynecologic exams, PAP Smears (cervical cancer screening), family planning & birth control, breast health, STI/sexual health screenings, hormonal evaluations and fertility support, miscarriage care and pregnancy loss/abortion postpartum care.

  • 1-day Intensive Birth & Parenting Courses

    Unmedicated Childbirth Preparation Class - 1-day Intensive (9:00am-2:00pm)

    Newborn & Postpartum Preparation Class - 1-day Intensive (2:30-5:30pm)

Sarah Tunney, LM, CPM, PhD (ABD)

Trained primarily in low-resource settings outside the US and as a community midwife for the Amish in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, midwife Sarah Tunney is equipped with birth emergency and newborn assessment skills to ensure experienced care for you and your baby. With 25+ years working in the field of maternal infant health, the last ten as a professional birth worker, Sarah is ready to care for your family’s unique needs.

She believes that pregnancy and birth are fundamentally normal physiologic experiences that hold the potential to be transformative, deeply spiritual, and to connect us to our shared humanity.

Sarah is a Licensed Midwife (LM) in California, holds national certification as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and is NCHAM-certified for newborn hearing screening (OAE). She earned her Masters and PhD (ABD) in Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies from New York University as a MacKracken Fellow, and graduated cum laude from Yale University with her Bachelor of Arts in Near Eastern Languages & Civilizations.
